Rakerkesnas: Coordination and Synergism between Central and Regional Government

Coordination and synergism between central and regional government are important factors in the acceleration of health development to achieve the target of the National Medium Term Development Plan and that of the Millenium Development Goals. The Working Meeting of the National Health (Rakerkesnas) 2013 had the theme “Dengan Semangat Reformasi Birokrasi, Percepat Pencapaian MDGs dan Persiapaan Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional”. (With the Spirit of Bureaucracy Reform, Accelerate the Achievement of MDGs and Preparation of the National Health Insurance.)

The Rakerkesnas 2013 was inaugurated by the Minister of Health, the Republic of Indonesia, dr. Nafsiah Mboi, Sp.A, MPH., and took place in three regions, i.e. West Region (Jakarta, 18 – 20 March 2013), Central Region (Surabaya, 1 – 4 April 2013), and East Region (Makassar, 15 – 17 April 2013).

Through the Australian Aid booth – the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Health Systems Strengthening (AIPHSS) Program, along with several other programs under the umbrella of AusAID, participated in introducing the cooperation between the Indonesian Government and Australian Government in improving the health care system in Indonesia.

The Rakerkesnas in each region was attended by more than 500 participants who represented the government and health related partners from each of provinces and districts throughout the country.
